Ever had an idea grow out of control?

I was listening to music and reading a forum for a game when I came up with a joke. A simple joke that started as nothing more than a title. Then I started imagining character designes, then an opening animation sequence... now I've finished drafting out the synopsises for all 12 eppisodes of S1 of a three-season, 36-eppisode series!
(Sadly I cant talk about it here since else a certian staff member will punsh me, but I will say it was a fun, action-filled, and humerous furry series!)

Has anyone else ever had this happen to them before?

I need to get you on my creative team at the studio! I have like 4 series in the works counting this one! (3/4 of which are furry! and the last one is faintly furry... well may be furry... still in development...)

I once heard a famous Chinese proverb... wait... I'll find it....

"Once upon a time I dreamed I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of following my fancies as a butterfly, and was unconscious of my individuality as a man. Suddenly I woke, and there I lay, myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man."

So I started thinking and now, I'm a few chapters into writing a book that is only very vaguely relevant to that quote.
