Furfright Con Report

Wednesday was travel day; 15 hours worth of traveling that actually was reduced by an hour so it was only 14 hours.
Now because of things i will not discuss, one of our friends had informed us that he could Not go to furfright :) but said we could still use his car. that would be nice yes, but it wasn't gonna be the same without him. Then at the LAST possible moment, like one hour before we were to leave...He called and said that he was able to go! YAY! That REALLY made our day, and trip!!.

So we drove...and drove...and drove and drove some more. We'd only stop long enough to pee, Maybe get a lil bite to eat and stretch our legs. So we made pretty good time i think. ^_^ Now, in the car was Jt, Blue Hayze, Aj and myself ^^ It was a bit cramped, but it could have been a ton worse.

GPS I LOVE YOU! No seriously if you don't have one...find a way to get one! They are Life Savers..also if you can, either get one that has this feature included or get the feature, letting you know of accidents and traffic jams. While we don't have that feature, it IS something that is a much needed thing to have.

Thursday.

We're still driving! yup..drivedrivedrivedrivedrive..that is what we did..well They did! Since I don't have a license. So we get into Conn about..oohhh..say tenish in the morning? And guess what? IT WAS SNOWING! yes! Snow! Ohhh i was So fucking HAPPY! I cannot begin to explain just how happy i was. I love snow. I love New England, and it's fall colors and aromas. I'm a New England girl born and bred. I do love the south...but New England is my home. So seeing this beautiful snow...you know the kind, the white fluffy flakes that tickles your eyelashes, and coats your tongue with cool water? [gee can ya tell i like snow?] It was fun. it made me quite happy. And watching

We arrived at the hotel at about 12:30 pm on Thursday. I shit you not, I felt like I came home. This hotel means a lot to me.. Well...the Con does really..not so much the hotel. Actually..i'll get to the CRAP the hotel put us through shortly.

So we got our crap into the room, and then Jt and I went down to the jacuzzi before it got all..well yanno..used up ^^ That was nice. Then Jt took a nap and I explored around for a bit. Saw some of my friends, and met new ones ^_^ Later on Aj and I explored and met even more new friends. ^_^ However, I stayed up long after everyone went to bed as I was waiting for Seth and Kit. They finally showed up and then we all went to bed. ^_^

Friday.

And so it begins! YAY Con! I really don't remember what time I got up, or even what I did for most of the day. I know that I explored, and that I even got a couple of commissions ^^ By this point honestly each day seemed to blend into the next. It really was pretty hetic. From finding someplace to eat, to getting ourselves lost amongst ourselves. Now by Friday I had met some wonderful new friends. Blueberry Baby is one, and i got Reaquantied with Crux ^^ and met this adorable otter omg he is so Adorable!! by Sunday I had met so many wonderful people it just blows my mind!
Now Friday honestly is quite the blur for me. I think I mainly walked around and took in the con yanno?

Saturday.

Ok Saturday I had a table in the artist alley, but due to some issue, i lost my spot. It's all right though, while I was upset at first, it's ok. Perhaps someone else was able to make some decent money ^_^ No matter, I was a volunteer. only..I couldn't find anything to do :( [that came later though] Again, I met some more people such as Joe Strike, a wonderful artist [if not a lil on the wonderfully odd side ^_^ ] and Jeneric Furry..omg she is So sweet!

And then there was the very Dapper Walrus who's name I dun know at all, but he invited us to play on the Other side. [based on Coraline the movie] so he "sewed" buttons into our eyes..and we played with the "Other" children. ^_^ Which now inspired me as to what I will be for Halloween ^^
a little later, when i met Jeneric Furry, we went to the Draw or Die panel...

Oh my so many wonderful things. I did go to the rave, but only for a very short time ^^ me thinks i may have surprised a few people as to how i actually move. Either that or i made people very ill ^^ BAH!

Sunday

EEE I got to ref in the Fursuit games!! WHOOO HOOO! ::bounces:: omg that was so much fun! It's been YEARS since I've had a chance to play with my friend Digger...and well Jt thought i was super hot in the [WAY TO SMALL TO TIGHT REF SHIRT!] heheh actually i shouldn't complain it Did fit and it's a size i've not been in years..it was just...rather tight and showed off my waist and bewbs. That was really fun..Jt played in the games while Blue recorded.

The closing ceremonies brought tears to my eyes. For many reasons. One of which was the amount of money they were raising for the War Dogs....it was amazing...at that time it was over 6 grand. Now it's over 7 grand. That is just Wonderful.
For the record, they are trying to raise money for the Canines that went to war. To get them a memorial and or even a stamp to commemorate them. If they can get a stamp of a cartoon character, then why not for the ones that put themselves in danger just as our moms and dads, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives and so on have? They deserve to be recognized to.

I got to suit for a while ^^ NOT in Jt's suit this time. hehehe Joe let me use his suit and i went out and was a goofball. I played keep away with Jt's ball and met yet more wonderful people ^^ Mew mew mew Furfright was simply full of the BEST people EVER!

Now to say my thanks to everyone...

Thank you to Jt for getting the room and for being the bestest boyfriend i could ever dream of having.

and finally...
Joe. ::huggles tightly:: You are a wonderful person. I meant every word that I said to you. Thank you for trusting me as you have. And allowing me, all of us, to see how wonderful you really are. :: kiss:: I hope that our friendship continues to grow. :)

I wish our friends that couldn't come, did. It would have made this awesome con All the better!!

Sadly though, not All things were perfect. Please allow me this spot to complain a bit. As this is warranted.

The Hotel...[i stress hotel NOT the con staff. They were wonderful!] The hotel.....Is making their displeasure a little to well known. At the risk of injury, fire hazard and safety to the con goers, guests, and staff.

First off, they shut off the lights in the atrium, which was Suppose to be left on....Now not being in the know as the con staff were, i didn't think to much of it save for it being a pain in my ass. But that's ok, the Artist Alley was fun enough ^^

However, the AC did NOT work at all on the second floor in Any room And if you're a suiter, then you Know that's hell!
The hotel staff were very...Rude to say the least. I got first hand rudeness by a couple of them when i was helping set up for the closing ceremonies. And by rude, i mean and I quote "these fucking furrys are ruining the hotel!"

I know for a fact there was a lot more to complain about, i know some became ill, and even more was treated to utmost rudeness.
this is NOT how to run a business! And i will be writing a letter of complaint.

Also.....My prayers are sent out.
Monday night at 11:30 pm Just past Raleigh Va, there was a horrible accident. A tanker ran into an 18 wheeler. We came up to it just a few moments after the explosion. When we got there, the flames were about 50 feet in the air. No one was killed thank god! We know that one person was air lifted.

Aside from that, we did get home safely.

And it was a Wonderful Con DESPITE the hotel trying to ruin it for everyone!!
